Overview
About Me
I’m Ali, born in a small town, and I’m deeply passionate about discovering different cultures and connecting with people.
I studied Agricultural Engineering at university, and now I work as a tour guide.
I love cooking, medicinal plants, literature, sciences, philosophy, and traveling.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing because I believe the world becomes more beautiful when we share it with others.
Traveling is not just about seeing new places for me , it’s about meeting people, exchanging stories, learning from different cultures, and feeling at home anywhere on this planet.
As a tour leader and someone deeply interested in nature, food, philosophy, and local traditions, I love connecting with people who see travel as a meaningful journey, not just a checklist.
Couchsurfing gives me the chance to meet travelers, make new friends, share authentic experiences, and hopefully create memories that last longer than any postcard.

Music, Movies, and Books
Folk music really excites me. And just as deeply as I connect with deep house, jazz, country, and metal, I’m completely unable to connect with rap and pop. Upbeat Iranian, Arabic, and Spanish music are amazing, and the sound of the oud and the ney-anbān has a direct impact on my mood.
I love movies that keep my mind busy long after they end — sometimes for days. It doesn’t matter whether they’re biographical, historical, or sci-fi. It doesn’t matter if they’re by Christopher Nolan, Tarantino, or Scorsese. The only genres I can’t connect with are horror and crime, and I find it hard to watch mystery films.
I’m a book lover! I have a long list of books I want to read in my lifetime. In recent years, I’ve been drawn to books on personal management, but I’m also very fond of travelogues and novels.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I’m proud that I’ve been able to build my work and career around my passions. I studied Agricultural Engineering and I truly love this field. I’ve always worked with plants, and that connection gives me a real sense of life. I also love traveling, meeting new people and cultures, and creating good experiences for others — and that’s what led me to become a tour guide. It’s been a few years now that I’ve been working in agritourism, and I feel genuinely satisfied with my life, my relationships, and myself.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love teaching. My family were teachers, and as a tour guide I get the chance to share what I know with others — and that really excites me. Sometimes I feel like once I start talking, I become unstoppable, but people around me have never complained or said anything about it :)
So when I meet you, I’ll probably have tons of questions for you and tons of things to tell you — especially about cooking!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Souvenirs, especially something edible and something keepsake-like, like a magnet! In addition, walking through memories and shared experiences we can have, and the subtleties of language. It will probably even lead to reading poetry, and I might get to cook a bit for you as well. I know how to cook Iranian dishes really well.
