ABOUT ME

Selamat datang! Apa khabar? (Welcome! How are you?)

I'm Ali and I live in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England. Originally from Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), I have been in the UK for 6 years, originally as a student and now as a qualified doctor. I would say I'm a shy and slightly reserved guy initially, more of an attentive listnener but once I warm up to you, very outgoing, open minded and quite adventurous (willing to try most things at least once!)

When I'm not busy working (yes I literally do save lives as a doctor... Or at least try not to kill my patients :p), I enjoy strumming my guitar & ukulele. I absolutely LOVE singing (I have a YouTube page too!) and have penned a few songs of my own. Amateur at best but I enjoy it very much.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Apart from couch surfing, I haven't spent much time getting involved with the CS community unfortunately. Would love to change that though in the near future!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've never hosted, but have surfed twice now. First couch in Vauxhall, London for a night and left with 2 new friends and a whole lot of memories. Most recent adventure was in Madrid, Spain for 4 nights which was excellent fun meeting other CSers, marvelling at the architecture and partying like the Madrileños!

I would say I have a universal music interest. I listen to pretty much anything from John Mayer to Frank Sinatra, Utada Hikaru to Nancy Ajram, Ingrid Michaelson to Fionn Regan. I'm open to recommendations! All time favs have to be Jason Mraz and Scissor Sisters

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

1) Dune surfing at the Wahiba Desert followed by dipping into the breathtakingly pristine waters of the Wadi Bani Khalid in Oman.
2) "Kissing" a sphynx (see my pictures) in Giza, Egypt.
3) Surviving 5 intensive years of medical school!!

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I can teach you to speak Malay, play the guitar/ukulele or sing in tune (unless your vocal chords really have something against doing just that!)

I would love to learn your mother tongue :)
