ABOUT ME

I am a lover, a poet, a man in love with Christ, the land all around me and beyond the mountains and sea. I see the world through oddly colored glasses, often in awe, seldom in anger, and always curious (which gets me into trouble sometimes if I haven't filled up the gas tank enough).
I am a science teacher who sings and dances, and will always live life like it is the most precious gift I have.
I am in love with my wife, but unlike her, I have been bitten with the wanderlust. I want to travel the world, and teach, and learn, and know all that I can and all those that I can. I hope one day to have friends across oceans and perhaps someday across the great ocean of stars above (maybe in our lifetimes).

We live in a small neighborhood called Woodlawn (which is right next to Wyoming Ohio) which is a village in the northern suburbs of Cincinnati.

PHILOSOPHY

Jesus is my lover, I am his. If I follow his words all my days, I will find Heaven on this earth. And if anyone ever harms another in His name, or seeks to pervert His teachings to limit the freedom and love of others, they have not truly met the Man I know.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I don't know yet, I hope to show people around the Cincinnati area. I want to participate more locally with groups or events, and wish to offer assistance to anyone in emergency need nearby Cincinnati Ohio.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've stayed with wonderful people in Tennessee, Georgia, and Texas. I look forward to more time this coming summer.

Interests

The world interests me. The pursuit of knowledge, the way a child laughs, the smile on the lips of a traveler, the curve of the earth looking down from the mountain top.

Music, Movies, and Books

Some of my favorite films are "The Last Unicorn", and "Shawshank Redemption". Some of my favorite artists are Leonard Bernstein, Sun Kil Moon, Sufjan Stevens, Radiohead, Over the Rhine, Newsboys, Iron and Wine, Creedance Clearwater Revival, Mindless Self Indulgence, Sanctus Real, and Feist. My three favorite books so far in my life (other than my Bible) are "The Book of Flying" by Keith Miller, "The Great Divorce" by C.S. Lewis, and "Where the Sidewalk Ends" by Shell Silverstein.

But I live my life through music of all kinds, and anyone who exposes me to new music, film, or literature is a friend indeed. I am also extremely happy to share my CD collection with others if I'm traveling.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I sang Leonard Bernstein's "Mass" at Music Hall in Cincinnati with May Festival Youth Chorus and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. Later on, I sang all along the West Italian coast from Rome to Sicily with a chorus from Cincinnati.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can sing old songs, and tell old tales, and I can read like the characters are speaking through me. I can teach you the art and science of Physics, Biology, Geology, Astronomy, and Chemistry. And I am a 14 year veteran in the Sound Engineering Business (concerts and such).

I want to learn to play the guitar, survive outdoors, and how to backpack across the world.

I want to learn from you, anything you want to teach. I am a lifelong learner, and the more I learn, the more I am alive.
