Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't. I thought I might a few years ago, but then I got a bit discouraged when I heard about bed bugs. I don't think I would like them.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Only with people I know who have cared enough to ask me not to drive and don't care at all how funny I look in the morning.

Interests

I like books (will Jasper Fford make me look interesting?) people (does Mary Wollstonecroft make me seem hard to please?) history (does it seem that I trying too hard?) Perhaps what I mean is I like the stories that old things and places hold. Everything from a worn sidewalk to an old, discarded lamp.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saw something being born. I see airport hellos and goodbyes. I see the light on the face of people who have surprised themselves. I see old people who have seen me, and and so many other things. I see the sun come up and come down every single day. I see the sunshine in my husband's smile. I see forgiveness. I see yearning, I see this gal contridicting herself and the idea of herself every day. I have been told some beautiful intimate stories that have been treasured in peoples hearts.

Teach, Learn, Share

Oh no--I am a really good English teacher, and not in the inflexible, marmy, way. But if you can read this and make inferences about me in this medium, then this is one skill that you have already mastered. I also know a lot about dogs and behavious. I feel that same as Maya Angelou who reports 'I have learned that I still have a lot to learn'.
