ABOUT ME

i hate these things. and i hate when people say they hate these things. so let's just start over.

...

i'm an unassuming, casual guy. i'm smart, courteous, and forthright. i have a dry sense of humor and am kinda shy.

i'm fascinated by geography and maps; i am something of a walking atlas. i love navigation, and i tend to know where i am and where i'm going with a high degree of precision.

i very much enjoy the logistical aspects of travel. i find that getting from point A to point B in some unconvential, efficient, or otherwise memorable way can be almost as much fun as point B itself. i tend to favor destinations for their remoteness, obscurity, and the challenge and/or novelty of simply getting there at all (and back!).

i'm rather liberal, politically, and am pretty embarrassed by the state of my country.
