ABOUT ME

LondonSmith.com is a video blog that tells of all exploits of my freshman year at John Brown University, plus some bigger events since then.

I'm a human.

I'm also graduated from John Brown University (in Arkansas). I was a child actor back in the day, and occasionally do acting here and there, as can be seen at LondonSmith.com. I also am a bit of a popper-contortionist style dancer.

PHILOSOPHY

Well, I'm a Christian. The real kind too, or so I hope. I try to love God and love people, and that's really why I do what I do.

People have wonderful stories, and I love to get to know them. I also think that most people underestimate how interesting their lives are.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm traveling as much as I can when I'm not doing school (and also when I am), so I'm hoping to find a place to stay and to get to know some humans.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Every host I've had thus far has been incredibly kind and generous. They have put me at ease while asking nothing in return (though I try to pitch in as much as I'm able).

King Charles, The Head and the Heart, fun., Death Cab For Cutie, Snow Patrol, Coldplay, Future of Forestry, The Beatles, Phil Wickham, Dan Mangen, Freelance Whales, Igrid Michaelson, Leeland, Queen, Regina Spektor, Tim Myers, and a great many others.

I've been rereading the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan far more than I should. I also read medical junk.

I lived the dream life as a child actor in Hollywood.

I stood on top of Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh sharing scotch provided to me by a stranger I met at the peak.

I lived as a white minority while attending med school in the Caribbean for two years.

I went to Kenya as a missionary for a two-week period in both 2008 and 2009.
I studied abroad in Belfast for six weeks following my freshman year (2010) and also went to Italy on holiday the same summer.
I studied abroad in Italy the following summer (2011) for four weeks and also went to the Philippines on a mission trip for two weeks.
I went on a medical mission trip to Uganda in 2012 for one month, then spent a week traveling through Belgium, England, and France.
I spent a week in South America on a medical mission trip to Peru (though I also visited Colombia and Brazil during this time).
