Overview
About Me
I've been living in Osaka for the past nine years, but have had the privilege to spend time in various countries since childhood. My mother grew up in several countries as a child and passed down a love of different types of people and cultures to my older brother and me. I love life and the various ups, downs, and different states of being that come with it. I appreciate my lovely friends and the people in my life for their ability to think deeply, challenge me to grow, and share their enjoyment of life and different perspectives. If we choose to share time together, I hope to welcome you and create a safe space where you can enjoy being yourself.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've been recommended by several friends to try couchsurfing and finally thought I'd give it a go. I'd love to meet different types of new people and expand my horizons, and it seems like a great opportunity to service the accommodation needs of myself and others. My friends have shared stories of beautiful relationships they've formed thanks to this website, and that makes me curious about what types of people I may meet.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love ambient, house, and techno music above all else, but I can listen, enjoy, and dance to pretty much any genre. I enjoy traditional music from other cultures as it represents a window with which to view its people. My favorite shows are Arcane and The Expanse (chef's kiss to both of them). I'm not religious, but I recently enjoy reading about Japanese spiritualities and religions of the ancient Germanic peoples. As for fiction, anything by Jay Kristoff is amazing.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'm so lucky to have received the opportunity of going to Vipassana last year. Vipassana is a 10-day silent meditation retreat, and it was one of the most challenging and best experiences of my life. I first attempted Vipassana many years ago when I was going through depression, and at that time I thought of it as something that would cure me. I was very naïve and ended up leaving on the second day because I couldn't take it. The fact I was able to grow and complete it last year represents a major accomplishment for me.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've been immersed in Japanese culture for a while now, so I hope I can provide some insight into the magic of this country and Osaka! As for what else we might learn from each other, please stop by and find out!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Apart from my company and conversation, you'll have your own double bed to sleep on and plenty of space to relax and enjoy yourself. The primary tourist spot in Osaka, Osaka Castle, is also a 10 minute walk from my house!
