ABOUT ME

I'm a bookish and quiet college student. I value organization and cleanliness. I own a charming cat. I don't like to drink. I'm mildly entertaining - occasionaly funny - but I am fairly dependable.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm a Baptist. It works for me. Life is inherently meaningless, but we form meaning by adopting operating myths. I have adopted the Christian belief in original sin and devine redemption. That doesn't make me a fascist. I defend the unpopular idea sometimes just because I believe unanimous agreement is a symptom of opression. Jesus himself was rarely a fan of popular opinion. Along those lines, life is a gauntlet and sometimes you just have to take your lumps. "For the good strive, for the bad await."
I strive through writing and art.

I like sports, art, books, poetry, politics, philosophy, history, religion, music, movies and talking to people who know I'm a terrible bore, but who don't care.

I love Woody Allen pictures and Jimmy Stewart. I dig Jackson Browne and Ryan Adams tunes. I've read more books than I can really rank, though the Bible is essential, and I wouldn't leave my copy of "Ethics(and Other Liabilities)" in a box. I most recently have read non-fiction on American culture, but "The Unbearable Lightness of Being" was my fav fiction read of 2007.
