About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Cook & eat well, get decent work done, clean the apartment.

ABOUT ME

My wife & I are DINK urbanites living in Minneapolis, MN. We practice Bikram yoga, cook & eat well, and love arguing about complex human systems (government, business, software, cars, etc.).

We travel mostly around the Midwest (her job takes her periodically to Detroit, Cleveland, and Chicago), but occasionally make it to New York, Portland (Maine), Miami, and once in awhile San Francisco.

PHILOSOPHY

This question really cries out for a tongue-in-cheek answer. I think I'll settle for a MP quote:

Q: What do you think of my walk?
A: It's not particularly silly, is it?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, I'm new to this whole thing. We're not looking so much to stay / host travelers, but we are interested in meeting fellow travelers, as well as locals who like meeting visitors to their cities.

When we visit cities, we usually end up just picking neighborhoods to wander around in. It seems like CS might be a good way to connect with people who know their cities better than we do, so we can learn more about life there.

Music, Movies, and Books

Well, I guess I already listed Somerset Maugham on "Interests". Besides that, I read a lot of Stephen King, Borges, WSJ, Slate, Planetizen, Fitzgerald.

As for music, these days I'm actually catching up with the whole indie rock and hip-hop thing. The wife can rattle off the bands names more easily than I can. Ugly Duckling is pretty slick.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

TBD

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, I guess I speak French, so if you want to learn that I can help. Otherwise, I wrote software professionally, so if anyone wants some advice I can help out in that area.
