ABOUT ME

Well I'm Tim, I'm from England but lived in Wales for nearly 8 years. I'd never travelled outside the UK, before coming to Brazil but I like to think I've led an interesting life so far and have done a lot of different things.

I had a crazy idea while working in a boring office several years ago that I would pack up my things and move to Rio de Janeiro. Well now it's happened, I've been living in Rio de Janeiro for the last 2.5 years.

PHILOSOPHY

To treat people as I would like to be treated myself, to have fun in life and to meet like minded people. I want to learn about other people and cultures.

I believe very strongly in getting involved in your local community and trying to help others less fortunate than myself. I have done quite a lot of volunteering in Swansea and hope to do the same in Rio de Janeiro and anywhere else that I live.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I had some people over to stay when I lived in the UK and I've been lucky enough to be hosted by some very good people here in Brasil. I now hope to offer my couch to others in need of somewhere to stay.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My former housemate is a member on this site and we've had some people from all over the world staying with us. Some really interesting charecters and some memorable times.

It's impossible to describe the music I like in a somewhat succinct way. I had close to 600 CDs and much more on my computer, from jazz to punk to minimal techno and everything in between. All gone now though...

I am very interested in the idea of a cultural exchange and would be delighted to talk with people about our respective cultures, our countries, our interests and swap stories.

I am also very interested in improving my Portuguese and would love to help people with their English.

I love cooking and am pretty good at it. If I stay with someone, it would be an honour to make some food that we can enjoy together.
