ABOUT ME

My name is Matthew (Matt is fine). I've lived in a number of places around the USA, (Alaska, SoCal, Suburban PA, NYC, Philly and Princeton) and have been fortunate enough to see much of the country in the process. Many people tell me I'm an old soul, but I just love to enjoy many aspects of life. I do my best to learn all I can from whomever I can, and try just about anything once.

I am generally positive (though realistic when I need to be), do my best to be a child at heart(meaning my sense of humor covers anything from corny and silly to witty high brow :) , and try to surround myself with like-minded people. One of my favorite quotes:

I love people who can laugh at themselves (and others). I LOVE the great outdoors, especially hiking, camping, snorkeling, etc. I do my best to enjoy the simple things in life. I am not easily offended, but respect is a must. Not really an early morning person, but can be as long as I get a full night's sleep. I'd like to think that at least a good portion of the time I look before I leap- not to say that I am not spontaneous or impulsive. I get told that I go overboard when it comes to taking care of others. I tend to reason through things and take a leadership role, but also listen to people who I admire to get other points of view. I love to talk, read, learn, explore, and get to know others.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have introduced a number of friends (and bar patrons) to the CS project. I hope to support it with by extending my own couch, and showing others what I know of the world.
