ABOUT ME

Alright. So my name is Melanie. I'm 21 years old and traveling! I've been traveling for 6 months now, but in September I will be in university studying medicine.
I absolutely love traveling and everything that comes with it. The best thing is to meet new people and have a blast with them. Personally I think that you can love a country. But what makes your experience truly special is the people you meet!
At home I spend time with my friends and family. I love fitness and exercise and music. I see myself as a very happy person, aaaand I love children.

PHILOSOPHY

This is a hard one and I can't explain it here. You'll need to talk to me about it. I do think a lot about existence though. Sometimes I just zone out and think about nothing and everything. But for the most part I have an opinion about a lot of things. Traveling does that to you :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, since I live in a dorm where I have to share the kitchen with other students living in a dorm, it's really hard to host. But I am very happy to show people around in Copenhagen or to get some coffee some time :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met some girls in the Philippines, that I later visited and stayed with. It was really cool because I got to go to work with them. They were working with street kids, so that was an awesome experience. They also showed me around in Cebu, where they lived. We had such a good time!

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to movies, I'm all about superhero movies - I just love them. Other than that I really like the Harry Potter series - the books more than the movies due to details. I love watching good movies. There are so many! Inception, the Lord of the Rings, the Prestige, Pearl Harbour etc. Depends on my mood really.
Love reading books as well. But when you are studying it's hard to find time to read other things than whats meant for school.
Music - where to start. What would the world do without music? It's everything.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My backpacking trip in 2013 has been the best, visiting New Zealand, Australia, Nepal, Thailand, Cambodia, The Philippines and Hong Kong.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have learned on my travels that you should not be afraid. Just go with your gut and jump into whatever you feel like. You have nothing to lose but everything to gain. To travel is to get educated and have fun.
