Overview
About Me
I am a Detroiter--though now only from some time in November to sometime in April, when I can and want to host. I've mostly lived in Michigan. B.A. in Education with Spanish and Political Science minors from Michigan State University. Graduate degree from Wayne State University. Researched 9 books, authored 7, published all 9.
Hubby is David, who also enjoys traveling and languages, but he's ahead of me on both. He told me about Couchsurfing, which we've enjoyed in the USA and Canada. We enjoy walks in nature.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To travel more due to it being less expensive. I've homestayed through four other organizations and hosted through one plus 4 guests for a women's conference, enjoying the people I've met as guest and host.
And, with Hubby, to introduce the neutral yet easy-to-learn international language Esperanto.

Music, Movies, and Books
Classical to Work by; Karen Carpenter and Anne Murray are two of my favorite singers. Books on Tape have been valuable for many trips from Michigan to Georgia--Jodi Piccoult is my favorite author for those. Read most of the Bones books. Musicals and occasional "chick-flicks" with daughter are favorite movies. I enjoy theater--community and Stratford, Ontario.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I grew up with a runway in my back yard, took flying lessons from my father and finished getting my pilot's license at Detroit City Airport. Started Girls in Aviation Days there 11 years ago.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a Genealogy researcher, which helped much on books I've written and published, such as Warm and Wonderful Stepmothers of Famous People.
