About Me
CURRENT MISSION
First surf under my belt. Maybe one more before epic EuroTrip (epic is relative since I've barely left the US).
ABOUT ME
New to CouchSurfing.
PHILOSOPHY
"When you want to, you will."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Again, brand new to this, so I am just testing this out for now. Not ready to host traveling sleep-overs yet, but once I get comfortable with the website and users, I'm sure that won't be a problem.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I had my first CS experience over President's Day weekend 2012 to Madison, Wisconsin.
My travel partner (Aimee Spevak) and our wonderful hosts (Justin & Becca) eased any uncertainties I had about this process and have made me want to be more active in the CS community. Not quite ready to offer a couch to travelers as my roommate would probably not like that.
Interests
I am DESPERATELY IN LOVE with food. I shudder to use the term "foodie" because it sort of comes with a negative, elitist connotation, but I love trying new foods, dining at fancy restaurants, and I pride myself on knowing where a good spot to eat is, or the best item on the menu to order.
I also love outdoor activities like playing softball and football, and running. I also like relaxing on a beach, in a park, at a ballgame, or on a bar patio. Luckily, Chicago provide opportunities for all of those :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Love all Tim Burton movies. I like a good action movie, but prefer the kind of film that really makes you think.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've come to expect so much of us as humans that I'm rarely struck in awe. One sight that I really appreciated was cruising through the Tracy Arm Fjord in Alaska...just knowing how it was formed and how much time it took was impressive.
I've been skydiving once in college, and that was a pretty amazing experience. We were on a static line in a small airplane where you actually have to crawl out and hang from the wing during flight before letting go. You only fall for a few minutes before the line pulls your chute, but still a wild, wonderful moment.
Teach, Learn, Share
My "expertise" would probably be places to eat in Chicago. Depending on your budget, your diet, and your favorite (or least favorite foods), I probably can tell you a handful of places nearby, and probably a few I've eaten at personally.
