About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To explore as many cultures and countries as I can.
ABOUT ME
I am a nurse at a large trauma centre. I work in the operating room. I have 2 sons, both are studying at university.
I enjoy making things, like sewing, felting, collage. As well as gardening, cooking, reading and going out with friends.
I have traveled a fair bit, and have plans for more!
PHILOSOPHY
I guess the whole "do unto others as you would like to be done to you" (what goes around, comes around)is an essential building block of reasonable behavior and interaction with others for me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have been hosting couch surfers, and look forward to "surfing" myself on future trips.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I enjoy hosting and have had fun learning more about my home city through the eyes of travelers. Chatting to surfers about their home, culture and experiences is a lovely way learn more and maybe help to blur the boundaries between us all.
Some couchsurfers have cooked a meal from their own country to share, which is fun but not essential if people don't like to cook! If guests share in the costs of meals or buy some of their own food it's great as it means I can manage to host more often.
I look at CS as a shared experience, not just a free bed (and food).
Interests
I love to be near the water, so I enjoy holidays or just picnics at the beach, rivers or lakes.
When I travel I love the smells, sounds, architecture, religious practices, art and colour that make up different cultures.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Stepping into Red Square in Moscow in 2006, having memories of 1991 TV footage of tanks in the square was quite powerful.
Sleeping in the moonlight on an overnight desert camp in the Moroccan Sahara, with good friends....memorable.
Witnessing the birth of a baby!
Teach, Learn, Share
When I signed up for CS, I was not sure what I had to offer, other than a clean, safe, comfortable bed! But my very first surfer asked about my interest in sewing, and could I teach him to sew something, which I did. A small gesture, but a nice beginning.
