About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Connect with our enormous and beautiful world and adventure in the alpine, while balancing a career in wildlife ecology. Always keep learning!

ABOUT ME

I am an easy going guy that loves to learn, improve myself and help others. I revel in meeting new people and understanding their experiences and views. I have a very strong connection and appreciation for the alpine realm and the outdoors. As much time as possible I spend outdoors doing all sorts of activities. I consider myself very respectful, calm, sincere, inquisitive, active, and curious. My passion and "profession" is terrestrial mammalian ecology and wildlife research in general. I am an excitable traveler and hope to explore all the corners of the world!

PHILOSOPHY

You only live once.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surf and host whenever possible! My philosophy regarding CS is pretty simple; I do all I can to be a great host because that is exactly the type of experience I want in return. Cheers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have done a decent amount of surfing around the world, and plenty of hosting. One thing you're guaranteed of is meeting quality and dynamic people, and I did. Thank you all!

Music, Movies, and Books

I tend to gravitate toward books that chronicle great adventures, whether the setting is in the mountains or during war-time. Scientific literature is also very interesting to me because it is such a direct and concentrated source of information and learning.

Two favorite books for now: Endurance: Shackleton's Incredible Voyage by Alfred Lansing, and Crime and Punishment by Dostoyevsky

My interest in music spans the existing spectrum from traditional Andean music to rap to Celtic. Can't go wrong with a little bag pipe from time to time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A stunning and surreal moment was witnessing the birth of a complete rainbow out of the fading mist over Laguna Chilatoa, Ecuador.
