About Me

I was born and bred in the bustling city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I moved to the UK when I was 16 to further my studies (still here). Living abroad has really broadened my horizons in a way that words cannot describe.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

So, I was in US for the first time over Christmas 2016. My family and I had our reservations about the trip due to the current political landscape, especially since my grandma wears a full hijab.

Long story short, our worries were soon alleviated after we found out the truth was far from the case. I even met an Uber driver with a thick southern accent and tattoos, who happened to be a Muslim! People were nice to us. Sure, there were the odd glances here and there but I felt that came more out of fear rather than hatred (I am after all a big, tall brown guy with a beard lol)

This experience has really shown me the importance of getting to know fellow human beings. I wish to understand other cultures, and what better way than to immerse yourself in it!

Interests

Ironically, I developed an interest in coding because I failed the computing module of my uni course.

I've been scuba diving since I was 14. Although, I've only been on 3 dive trips so I'm still a beginner.
