About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to share and discover cultural knowledges and different ways of life

ABOUT ME

Before we met, my wife Muriel and I used to travel extensively in remote areas and loved meeting people from the country, experiencing and sharing a part of their life. Whereas she always traveled mostly with friends, I almost always traveled alone. We have now two children, one little girl of l6 months old and a 3 years old boy. We still travel with them although a little bit differently! With them we went to Japan, Bulgaria, Italy, Baleares islands...

We are both 37 years old. I'm also a white water river guide.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Never experienced the couchsurfing using couchsurfing.com, but we used to be members of the organization "Servas", an "old-fashioned paper version" of couchsurfing.com. Through this organization we couchsurfed in Bulgaria and Japan.

Interests

Didier: litterature, Central-Asian art, geopolitics and foreign studies, travel articles writing, video and movie making (my movies "trekking in Afghan Pamir" and "how to travel with a baby in Japan" were shown in several movie festivals), cooking.

Muriel: photography, litterature, world music. Organize once a month a "nature and culture" walk around Paris. Loves to organize events for groups of friends.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

To travel in Afghanistan. Jump in kayak a 12 meter high waterfall. To see my wife give birth at home in our bedroom.

Being for the first time in a Buddhist temple in Ladakh, north India, and feel like I had already been there. A terrific impression of "deja vu"...
