Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My mission is to experience as many new things, people, and places as possible in this life.
ABOUT ME
Of all things, I enjoy travel the most. Travel exposes me to new things, sights, people, cultures, and realities. I do not very much enjoy being a tourist, as tourist-based consumerism often masks or displaces local culture that is usually what attracts me to an area in the first place. I have done volunteer service trips in Maine, South Carolina, Appalachia, and South Dakota, and on these trips I had the opportunity to witness rich, diverse cultures and help people living in nearly third-world conditions in the largely forgotten corners of the US. Above all else, these trips taught me first to be thankful for anything and everything I have, both material and non-material. I also learned how important it is to be fully removed from your comfort zone in order to learn about yourself, other people, and the world at large.
PHILOSOPHY
Try not to learn lessons the hard way twice.

Music, Movies, and Books
I am a huge fan of Texas country, bluegrass, and folk. I listen to just about anything, except rap and hip hop.
After all the readings I complete for school, reading for recreation seldom happens which is unfortunate. I particularly like the works of Tom Robbins and am strangely lured towards non-fiction stories of people surviving at sea.
I love film!! It would take forever to explain my fascination and taste in film, but regardless it is captivating to me in too many ways for me to recognize.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I worked in a kitchen for a summer that was ransacked by a bear while I was sleeping only a short distance away.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have a pilot's license and field experience in critical infrastructure, geology, forestry, cartography, and satellite imagery analysis.
