I was born in Kabul, Afghanistan. At the age of 12, I came to the United States with my family. I was shocked for the longest time because the two cultures are so different. Growing up in Afghanistan, we watched Bollywood movies all the time, hence I can speak Hindi as well. I did not know English when I moved to the States. I learned it and Spanish as well because to the school I went to required us to learn Spanish. I loved the language as soon as I got first perks of it. I'm very passionate about languages and different cultures because they connect people. I can cook anything. I feel that there is a warmth to languages. Language is a beautiful thing. Now I'm learning French. I had never taken French until I went to College. I always wanted to learn it but never had a chance. So I took French for the first time at the age of eighteen. I excelled in French and learned to love it. Now, I'm planning to study abroad for a semester in Paris. I'm excited but nervous about this experience.
