ABOUT ME

Now, this project has ended. We, at the Museum of World Culture would like to sincerely thank everybody who has somehow participated in this project!
The exhibition destination X is still up for at least another 6 months, Welcome!

Wanna participate in something extra-ordinary? A caravan couch? If you're open to new things and want to spend your stay in Gothenburg as a part of the Museum of World Culture's Destination X exhibition you should press the CouchSurf with-button up here! Yes, you will sort of be on display, you'll be staying in downtown Gothenburg and you should be aware that curious people might come by and ask questions about what you're up to!

But, as you hopefully know, CouchSurfing should be more about meeting new people and getting a free couch to sleep in should be consider a bonus, the Gothenburg Group will be your collective host! They will create events and you will be able to get in contact with them.(which you will have access to during opening hours (Tue 12-17, Wed-Thu 12-21, Fri-Sun 12-17)) and from a pay-as-you-go phone which you'll be provided during your stay).

There will be some kitchen appliances, a micro wave oven and some noodles for you if you'll get hungry.
A portable toilet will be situated beside the museum if you have to do your business after opening hours.

You should be aware that people might come by and wonder what's going on. But if you're a people's person you'll hopefully get along just fine with the Swedish peeps!

The Caravan will be open during two summermonths, starting 7th june. But it will not be availble during weekends.

PHILOSOPHY

The museums philosophy is to be an arena for disussion and Reflection. The museum acts as an intermediary, accumulates knowledge and preserves cultural objects. It is an arena for discourse and reflection in which a multitude of voices are heard, contentious issues are thrashed out, and people of all backgrounds feel at ease, especially couchsurfers!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

The museum has opened an exhibition called Destination X. The exhibition problematise traveling and the human being as a mobile creature. Regarding this exhibition the museum has also a caravan.
