ABOUT ME

I'm an open minded person, eager to discover life's incredible diversity! I spent part of my childhood in Australia, such a great place to grow up in! Ever since I have been back in France I have the impression of spending too much time studying, and I'm glad this is coming to an end! I love to be out in nature, wide open spaces. I find all creative activities fascinating to experience and I have fun improvising contemporary style dancing, especially on live improvised music. I also truely enjoy moments of stillness and calm concentration to feel what being alive truely is! I try to make meditation a daily practice. I love sharing moments with people who are not afraid to actually share!

PHILOSOPHY

I have no philosophy, none that can be understood by the mind, the intellect, that can be encompassed by words. Life goes far beyond what our mind can possibly grasp.
Some words can however point towards a true experience of life, of Being:
"What, at this moment, is lacking?"
"If not now, when?" - Time is an illusion of the mind, the only experience we can have of life is now.
"Presence is the key to freedom","you can never reach that point because you are that point now" says Eckhart Tolle.
All our sufferings come from our identification with our mind. Most, virtually all, people in our civilisation have become addicted thinkers which sucks up all their life-energy. True creativity and love can only emerge from freeing ourself from the mind made self and coming back to our natural state of inner connectedness with Being.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I discovered CS on my first trip to Finland last year and have hosted a few people this year in Paris. I love it!

Interests

I'm particularly interested in all the activities that enable people to discover more about themselves and fully experience life. I practice contemporary / modern danse improvisation and most of all Zen meditation. I love travelling and meeting people of course!

Music, Movies, and Books

My most recent discoveries are:
Ushio Amagatsu's recent dance creation Tobari (Sankai Juku ) which I saw at the Théatre de la Ville on 7th of May! A creation which takes you on a spiritual journey!
The book I'm reading at the moment, the most enlightening one I have ever read, is "The Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle.
I enjoy all kind of music, especially live. I played the violin for years when I was a kid and the guitar in my teens. This summer I'll help out with the organisation of Craponne's Country festival, always a great time to have fun with the artists and listen to 3 days of live music (different styles represented).
