ABOUT ME

Russia bound on Feb. 3!

Hi, my name is Barbara, I am 21 and from Austria.
I study transcultural communication at the University of Vienna. I also work as a waitress and barista in a small cafe and bakery. Life's always busy but my ambition is to see lots of places around the world and meet great people!
I am a family oriented person, I have two siblings and since I have lived and worked in America for more than a year and I am proud to say that I now have a second family in California.
When I finally have some time off from university or work, I love hanging out with my friends, go out for some drinks, cook dinner together or simply enjoy a walk in the park (does anyone else think of the Nick Straker Band when saying "walk in the park"?)
I am an easy-going person that usually gets along with everyone. I might seem a little shy at the beginning but I'm most definitely not! I also enjoy a good laugh but I'm usually easily amused by something. I'm always up for adventures!
As I said, I like going out and meeting friends. I love having a few pints in pubs, too.
I'm lucky to live in Europe, that way I can get to another country very easily, on the train, bus, plane, etc. I've been to a lot of places in Europe, even though there are plenty more countries I will have to check out. Since I lived in America, I have also visited a lot of places over there. My favorite cities are San Francisco and Boston, also Telluride which I dont consider to be city, rather than a village.
In the future I'd like to go to Alaska and see and feel the pristine nature. On the top of the list of places I want to visit is also Australia and pleeenty of other countries, I can't even list.
I hope to make many more friends through couchsurfing!

I'm unable to host at the moment, but I'll make sure to return hospitality when I can. :)

surfed a few couches so far, hopefully many more to come until i can host people myself back at home!

I'm pretty much open to any music and I love listening to bands that I haven't heard of yet. Of course I have my all time favourites that I can listen to a thousand times per day, for example: cold war kids, bon iver, the kooks, beirut, marvin gaye, james brown, florence and the machine, coldplay, hilltop hoods, mumford and sons, kings of leon, six60, little comets, old crow medicine show, caravan palace, the rolling stones and many more

Seeing a grizzly bear in Alaska probably 30 feet from where I was standing! Absolutely breathtaking

I'm lucky to be have been raised in Austria, so I can teach you how to ski or snowboard!
Since German is my mother-tongue, I can teach you some German.
