About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To boldly go ...

ABOUT ME

My children have all grown up and now its time for me, I'm a student at the moment and looking for some new experiences in life. I love meeting new people and sharing in the richness of their lives.

PHILOSOPHY

To keep an open mind and never stop learning. When you encounter a wall, tell youself. "Since there is a wall here, a wide, open expanse must lie on the other side." A wall is an obstacle, but each obstacle we meet is proof of the progress we have made so far.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can only offer a place to stay during the summer months. I have couches but they are a bit small for tall people, also have a double airbed that can go on the floor. I enjoy cooking and good converstion with my guests. I am from a farming background and have always lived in the area, I know the hills and trails pretty well and love showing people around. I have not yet done any surfing but intend to change that soon.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted some wonderfully diverse and interesting people but no surfing experience as yet - experiences are up an coming.

Interests

Things I like but in no particular order: mountains, moonlight, creativity, optimism, cats, ambition, the colour orange, photoshop, Radio 4, Douglas Adams, train journeys, water, photographs, dancing, adventure, chutney, Berlin, log fires, tolerance, my walking boots, conversation, laughing, trying to keep up with the dog, commitment, thunder and lightening, the Six Nations, Radio 2, riding pillion, exploring, swimming in the sea, growing flowers, Las Alpujarras, antique shops, feeding the birds, banter, pottery, my Bronica.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Flying, as in paragliding, being up there getting like a bird, that was the most exhilarating experience I've ever had!

I find thunder storms pretty exhilarating too, I remember being in the middle of one with lightening hitting the ground all around me - wow!

Countries I’ve Visited

Denmark, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Spain

Countries I’ve Lived In
