I try to host people every week and share with them the magic of Paris . So how can you increase your chance of being hosted, not just by me but by anyone, anywhere?

1. Write a request that is clearly addressed to me and not just everyone in this city who owns a couch.

2. Skip the part where you tell me that you want to meet locals or discover Paris or you just need a couch for a few nights. I know all of this already.

3. Tell me why I want you in my house. Tell me why, after a 10 hour day dealing with all of the humanity and pressure of living, not vacationing, in Paris, you think I would rather hang out with you than just relax with my friends or being alone

4. If you are traveling with a friend, give me a link to their CS profile. They don't have a CS profile? Then they can't surf my couch!

These are the basics of a good couch request. They don't guaranty a host will accept you, but they make it much more likely. You can either send a shitty request to 100 hosts or a good request to 5 hosts. The choice is yours.
