Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Just trying to love and be loved in return
ABOUT ME
I love plants and being outside. I grew up in the city/burbs but I'm definitely a country person at heart.
Cooking for other people is one of my main joys in life.
I am really focused when it comes to studying and working hard and laid back about pretty much everything else.
If I only get one chance at this life, I want to make it count.
PHILOSOPHY
Life is too short not to spend it with the people you love, doing the things that you love.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I would love to get to know you, show you around my new adopted home, cook you a tasty meal, and generally be friends. Once I have a place of my own (not a dorm), I plan to host people for real. In the meantime, I can't wait to start meeting other CSers.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
No official experience so far. I have informally slept on many couches and hosted many travelers in different cities. I also have a tendency to pick up hitchhikers and other random folk. I am excited to join the CS community!
Interests
Plants, of course! And bugs and other things you find outside. Cooking. Foraging. Learning new languages. Gee's bend quilts. All things asymmetrical. Primary colors. Libraries. Reading YA books. Volunteering. Talking with elderly people. Trying not be too wussy. Badminton (the indoor kind). Herbal tea. Wandering. Locked doors.

Music, Movies, and Books
I can't get enough of Ghibli movies, short stories by Leo Tolstoy and music by the short-lived folk rock band Happy End.
There's more but that's a good start.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent one summer night sleeping out on our driveway as a kid. I can't remember why my parents let me do it. I had been playing in the sprinkler and I was still wearing my bathing suit. The pavement felt all warm and soapy. Maybe it sounds dull but I remember feeling completely free.
Teach, Learn, Share
Foraging and plant ID, language exchange (English, Japanese, Spanish), cooking and baking, preserving, fermenting and pickling, knitting, yarn and cloth dyeing, pottery, editing academic papers... not sure what else.
