About Me

I am easily interested in anything, meaning I have a wide variety of interests, many of which I don't even know of yet.

I've tree planted for the last 3 seasons.

I'm currently a psychology Masters student living in Victoria, BC, attending the University of Victoria. I recently moved from London, Ontario where I lived with 6 amazing friends and completed a BA in psychology at the University of Western Ontario.

A day in my life most often involves cooking, exercise, socializing, reading and sometimes teaching.

I love to party and try new things, and I also enjoy more laid back atmospheres, involving board games or documentaries.

I think the reason I love meeting new people is because of my research in psychology; talking to, listening to, and understanding why people think and act in different ways has always fascinated me. We're all human, but we're more different than we are similar.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I made an account because I've heard so many stories from friends about how amazing this site can be to connect fellow travelers looking to learn something from one another. I cannot think of a better system than one that helps people meet one another to exchange experiences and knowledge so that they can both grow from it.

I also love the idea about being able to meet people who are living in a place I may travel to, so that I can get information about the country/province/culture from someone who knows it very well.

Interests

Learning about anything that I am unfamiliar with politically, culturally or scientifically

Anything outdoors, especially anything involving water

Exercise, running, challenging myself

Reading, writing, painting, sculpting (I'm not very good but it's fun)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Literally anything catchy, unique or created as a form of self-expression

Movies: I haven't seen many movies at all, my friends actually joke about how few pop culture references I understand, but among the favorites I have seen are: UP, Grave of the Fireflies, and the Jurassic Park series. Also, a HUGE documentary fan.

Books: I read much more non-fiction than fiction, specifically anything falling under the categories of Psychology, Philosophy, Anthropology, Biology, Economics, Food/Nutrition, or on a random specific topic (Bananas, cockroaches, the internet, etc.)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once ran a marathon after only one month of training... not the smartest idea, but I was pressed for time.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to teach people about psychology, and the numerous tips, tricks and methods that can be derived from the research in order for us to improve our own lives.

I enjoy learning about everything, literally everything.

And I can share travel stories, life experiences, and healthy living tips.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Great life chats about goals, passions, relationships, debates, food, and health, all both positive and negative.

I've also helped many friends and colleagues live a healthier lifestyle, and although much of that process is culturally specific, I may be able to help out a host, even with simple small things, if they are interested.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Ireland, Jamaica, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Thailand, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
