About Me

Enjoying and living Brazil (and South America) while finishing my master's degree!

I think I can say that I'm a laid-back person who enjoys life, travelling, meeting new people, good conversations and learning new things.

I love change, I hate status quo or that feeling you get when you're caught up in a routine. So I do everything to avoid it!

I am an artist, a singer, a dancer, a linguist, a globe-trotter.

I am Canadian, Cameroonian, Senegalese, Mexican, Spanish, Brazilian...

I am honest and straight-forward, sometimes a little too much!

If I could, I would visit all countries in Latin America.

I love ice cream, good movies, sleeping, laughing, dancing, and that exciting feeling of being in a new place and not knowing exactly where I'm going.

I love sharing my music through the gifts God gave me... But I also get shy about it sometimes, maybe it's false modesty, I don't know...

I love hugs! I think it's the most warm and human way of saying Hello, Goodbye, Thank You, Nice to meet you...

I am Christian (Catholic) but I love and respect all philosophies and ways of life. I like to have good, respectful, conversations about that aspect.

I hate any kind of waste (time, food, money...) and love and admire any intiative including recycling and alternative lifestyle and travelling options, as opposed to the consumption world we live in, even though there's no getting around it (unless you live in a hut in some hidden forest, of course)!

CARPE DIEM (Seize the day... Life is too short!)

I believe that my word is one the most valuable things that I can give to someone, so when I do give it, I try my very best to honor it.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

Unfortunately, right now I can't host, but I love going to meetings when I can, and have one-on-ones with other CSers.

I've surfed couches in:

-Puebla, Mexico (First experience, terriffic enough to convert me to CouchSurfism)
-Zacatecas, Mexico
-Toledo, Spain
-Curitiba, Brazil

I've hosted once while living in Puebla, Mexico.

I've been to meetings in Puebla, Montreal, and Florianopolis (where I currently live).

I've met Couch Surfers in lots of cities and countries!

Music (Gospel, WorldBeat, Latin, Pop, R&B, Soul... ), Dance, Cinema, Travelling, Spanish Language and Cultures, Portuguese, Teaching

Music, Movies & Books

I love movies. I cry and laugh very easily while watching them (and in life in general). Adam Sandler is my favorite actor/comedian. any of his comedies will get me through a hard day! Denis Villeneuve's "Incendies" has left me speechless. So have "Slumdog Millionnaire" and The Lion King musical, among many others.

I also love to read, I'm a very slow reader because I easily get distracted from finishing a book (story of my life, not just reading-wise). Therefore I can take years to finish one. I try to always finish what I start, even years after.
Right now I'm reading, among others, Julia Navarro's "La Sangre de los Inocentes", which I started in 2012. Just to give you an idea.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

3.7 million of youth gathered on Copacabana beach on July 27, 2013. And yet you could hear the waves through the silence for a few minutes. Breathtaking. It was for the World Youth Day (Google).

Teach, Learn, Share

Life is an open book. I try to learn as much as I can from it and cherish the bad just as I cherish the good, because even the bad teaches you lessons.

What I Can Share With Hosts

My experiences, my language skills, my music skills, my love for life!

Countries I've Visited

Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Cameroon, Chile, England, France, Italy, Morocco, Portugal, Romania, Switzerland, Uruguay, Virgin Islands, U.S.

Countries I've Lived In

Brazil, Cameroon, Canada, France, Mexico, Senegal, Spain
