About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live and learn.

ABOUT ME

I read, write, travel, run, listen to music, bike, talk to people, and most of the time I like my life. I love having contrasts in my life. It's great going to a reagge-concert one day, and the next; visit the opera. I love seeing bands live, going to the theatre and exhibitions.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to remind myself that life is simple, even when it's hard. Just have to keep living it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like the idea a lot. The world can seem very big and scary. I want people to be able to spend time with each other without worries. The world gets both bigger and smaller when you spend time with people from different countries.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had some CS's at my place and plan to use it myself this summer in Europe. It's really nice to host people.

Interests

Reading, writing, travelling, training.
Music, different cultures.
Languages! It's my dream to learn new languages.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was walking in the jungle in Taman Negara in Malaysia on my own for four hours. When I tell people about it and when I think about it, it strikes me how crazy that was. The risk isn't very big but an elephant or a tiger could have shown up. Yeah, and my water could have run out, I could have gotten lost and noone would have found me. But at the time, when I was walking, I was just high on the humidity, on the sounds, my sweat - high on life. I was in my own world, didn't think about dangers. This is one thing that is very valuable for me although I didn't share this experience with someone, maybe BECAUSE of that. Sometimes I talk to myself and say "Beccy, you remember when 'we' were walking in the jungle for four hours?" and I laugh and shake my head. It's nice that you can be your own best friend. (After the four hours I stumbled into a river and there were men with boats who took me back. And if they wouldn't have been there?)
