Stay busy! There's always something to do or learn or experience. As my friends and I say: "Do everything all the time".

ABOUT ME

I am a nerd/geek! I love board games, reading, movies, and anything on the computer (blogs, games, email). I'm also active; I ride my bike everywhere and play racquetball and frisbee often. I'm an amateur photographer too. I'm trying to do everything all the time!

I'm becoming more aware of what I eat, trying to tailor my consumption to be as sustainable and healthy as possible. That means I don't eat dairy (because I'm lactose intolerant and I can't digest it) and I rarely eat meat.

I'd like to do a lot more international travel, as well as get to know my own country better.

I grew up on a small farm in the country and have since lived in moderate and large cities. I've gone from feeding the chickens and splitting firewood to edging my bike past taxi cabs and buses!

I'm not really a party person. If you're visiting and looking for someone to take you out to the clubs, I'm not the right guy, although I would go out for a drink here and there. But if you want do some sightseeing in the city, ride bikes, and hang out with a down to earth group of people then you've come to the right place!

PHILOSOPHY

Do less, better. Meaning don't overwhelm yourself with stuff to do. Instead, take on less stuff, but do it really well.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I started out using CS by meeting three people in Puerto Rico who showed me around. It was great! Now I try to reciprocate by hosting people at my place.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Met three different people while staying in Puerto Rico. I didn't stay with them, but they all took the time to show me around. It was a really positive experience and got me to further trust couch surfing.

I've also hosted a few times at my home which was great.

I will read pretty much any book someone suggests.

I like bad movies, like poorly made horrors/action flicks. But I also like well made, moving movies too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my favorite moments during a week long vacation in Thailand that included a bunch of tourist hot spots, was a 7:00AM bus ride on the island of Phuket. The bus filled up with local people going to work and school. Quite the change from the loud streets and stores we had been around thus far, it felt like a genuine moment, a look at real life in Thailand.

Teach, Learn, Share

One thing I am very much into is how personality affects interpersonal communication. I have a good grasp of the Myers Briggs Personality Type Indicator (MBTI) and how to assess personality types and understand their interactions with other types. I'm always interested in talking about this.

And I love talking about board game strategies!
