About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To boldly go where a not that many people have gone before
ABOUT ME
ALL about me? That's going to take a while, I guess I'll settle for the important details.
For starters, I was raised on the East Coast of Canada by a pair of freaky, liberal actors with a taste for the unusual(As you could probably tell from my name...) and I inherited an incredible lust for travel, and the unknown from both of them. Hence my reason for being here.
I'm a pretty easy-going, laid back sort of guy with a sarcastic streak from the day I was born. I like to think that I'm funny, I can't always convince other people of that though unfortunately. Ho hum, what else...
Hmmm, What now, what now...
Religious beliefs? Don't have any. Haven't ever really, I was raised in an agnostic household where 'religion' was something that wasn't really necessary for me to learn the ways of the world.
I guess I should inform people that I'm clean... because you do never know, really. But I promise that I am, and always will be at least reasonably clean. I can't promise that I'll smell like lemons and Pledge furniture cleaner, but I can promise I won't stink.
Moving on, I probably wouldn't stay anywhere for more than a night or two (Unless asked nicely, of course) and I never really snore. Whenever I stay somewhere I'd like to be able to earn my keep in some manner or another, whether you need some cooking, cleaning, or what have you, I'm pretty easy and willing to help out.
That's about all I've got at the moment, evidently I'll add to it when I think of things.
PHILOSOPHY
Well, I'd say my personal philosophy is a combination of romantic idealism, and cynical anarchy. Don't ask me exactly what this means, I haven't figured it out for myself yet, but I'm sure it's interesting on some level or another.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
At the moment, I don't really. Well, I suppose I helped some couchsurfers feel at home here in Halifax... does that count?
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
A pair of friends of mine have hosted a few Surfers recently, and I had the pleasure of spending some time with them as well. It really helped show me that there's gotta be a whole lot of cool people in the world, and this is a good way to meet some.
Interests
Let's start with Traveling as a main interest (Seems appropriate) I'm planning on going around Canada, and then hopefully seeing the rest of the world before my liver fails.
Other than that, meeting new people, seeing new places, and having fun are at the top of my interests and desires. Not exactly the most original list, but what can I do, there's other categories for my other main interests.
- cooking
- traveling
- religion
Music, Movies, and Books
Let's start with Music, my favourite band's Pink Floyd. I don't like picking favourites, but hey, they are basically the greatest band ever (Yes, including The Beatles. I find them more interesting, and like more than two of them.) That's not saying I don't like the Beatles, they're up there too with the greats like Led Zeppelin, Deep purple, Dire Straits and the list would go on, and on, and on. I'm also a fan of metal, alt-rock and all that jazz, pretty much anything interesting and intelligent.
Books are my passion, have been since I was old enough to be read too, and it only got worse(better?) once I could read myself. Fantasy and Sci-Fi were always my first choice as a young gent, but as I got older I expanded into anything and everything that seemed interesting. Recently I've been on an educational kick, spending more time reading philosophy, and similar ilk.
