About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To use art as a way to foster healthy, inclusive, and sustainable communities filled with hope.

ABOUT ME

I create things.
Sometimes documentaries, sometimes tomatoes...

I serve various nonprofits focused on uplifting unheard voices. I try to share these stories in a way that builds and transforms vulnerable communities.

My writing adventures have made it possible for me to be a youth educator at a high school, a social justice organizer in my community, an urban farmer in my city, and an all around weird person.

When I am not telling stories, you can find me on my bike, running, reading, or all three of those at the same time!

PHILOSOPHY

As unfortunate as it is, us humans have to communicate ourselves through mediums instead of the more utopic idea of sending brain waves between eachother. Because of that, I believe it is our path to find creative ways in expressing the true nature of who we are. Pobody's nerfect though, so we are all just winging this feat every day of our lives!

Note: My original account from 2012 was deleted to make use of my new legal name! Hi if you know me from then! :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I can, I enjoy hosting artists and poets who are on a reading tour, or bikers on a bike tour, as I know it is sometimes difficult to make ends meet on those long, overwhelming journeys.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Over the years I have traveled and created connections through volunteer opportunities in many cities. I have WOOF'd (similar to CS but you help out on a organic farm rather lay on a couch!) and used informal couchsurfing on my long bike tours.

Each person I have met has changed my life. Every story becomes weaved into my writing..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am part of an artist collective called Project Parallax. One initiative we did was to share the voices of individuals immigrating into the US before the Executive Order ban on immigrants a few years back. I got to work with students coming into a local high school.

I also head this multi-city project called Soapbox, in which we strive to give those without a voice, a platform (physically and metaphorically) to share their stories and beliefs. I carry around an actual Soapbox sometimes!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a Youth Visual Arts Instructor, and creative writing teacher at a local high school. I love learning and sharing the ways we can better understand/prepare our younger generations to see a more hopeful world.

In terms of social justice, I support junior high and high school activists as an organizer. I have extensive exeperience in organizing to create change, and would like to give everyone the chance to have the resources to do the same...

What I Can Share with Hosts

For one, I am quite good at telling stories on the fly. A ballon stranded in a forest? A rock falling in love with a tree?! I like to meld together the children stories told to me by various cultures into something unique..

I am also a bike mechanic, organic farmer, and hobby sewer (not of pipes but of bags!). If you need something fixed, I can definitely bodge something together.

Beyond the physical, I am a Dharma Teacher In Training, studying under Master Bon Soeng. I can share some of my spirituality learning with you!
