About Me

Did anyone say "dragons"? I am all for anyway!🐲🐉
Hi, everyone! My name's Nadia, or Nadine (sounds more sophisticated😎)
Being crazy about dragons? Yup, that's all you should know about me. Why? Oh, come on, they are sooo cute (P. S. It's impossible not to adore them💚)
I'm 19 years old and I live in "Little Vienna" of the Western Ukraine, or Chernivtsi. And there's no wonder that my hometown is called like that as it's known for its bohemian architecture which harmoniously combines the past and the present. I cordially invite everyone to visit it🇺🇦
There's one more thing that you should know: I'm fond of languages😀 (P. S. Theory especially, bear that in mind) I'm convinced that there is nothing better than discovering a new window from which you can look at the world from a different perspective.
Now I'm studying at one of the most fabulous universities of Ukraine: Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, or "Ukrainian Hogwarts". It's so beautiful and historic that Harry Potter fans, architecture and history buffs alike should definitely visit it. And I'm not exaggerating now, come and see with your own eyes💙💛
My life motto is "Keep going no matter what" as I believe that a bit of hard work is the crucial element of anything. So, there's no point in complaining or whining, be strong and strive for what you really want and you'll achieve it despite any circumstances.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Why am I here? Couchsurfing is a marvellous opportunity for me to implement my dreams into reality and travel as much as I can. Undoubtedly, that's good to know some theoretical stuff, but it makes no sense without any real experience. Language and culture exchange is the main reason why I am here. It's so captivating to travel to different places and get acquainted with people of different nationalities and age groups. Each person is unique in his/her own way, so, why not to discover this uniqueness? Why not to challenge myself and step out of my comfort zone? I'm sure there's always something that is waiting for me to be explored...

Interests

I'm passionate about languages and their theoretical framework. I can easily spend hours trying to get to grips with one grammar issue and then spend even more hours attempting to find similarities between the same peculiarity in the other language. Frankly speaking, I think that it can be compared with a detective who's trying to solve his case and find a criminal who's responsible for committing a crime. Why's that? Because usually you have to pick and check each and every clue in order to come to the conclusion

Music, Movies, and Books

Harry Max Harrison, Edgar Allan Poe, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Agatha Christie and Charles Dickens are among my favourite authors
Imagine Dragons, Bad Wolves, Skillet, AnnenMayKantereit, The Score, American Authors, Three Days Grace, Shinedown, X Ambassadors are only some of my favourite bands
I'm fond of different detective stories, so my favourite TV series are CSI, NCIS and Body of Evidence
As for my favourite movies, hmm a rather difficult choice, if to be honest, as there are so many of them, but I'd probably choose "Kingsman: The Secret Service" and "Kingsman: The Golden Circle"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being at the crossing point of 3 seas: the Sea of Marmara, the Aegean Sea and the Mediterranean Sea

Teach, Learn, Share

I think that travelling is all about getting to know each other and sharing some awesome stories and experiences. I'd really like to find out as much as possible about your adventures and wanderings❤️

What I Can Share with Hosts

Would you like to find out more about Ukraine and Ukrainians as well as our culture and history?🇺🇦 Then I'm the right person to ask!💙💛 Since I'm a linguist, questions about the Ukrainian language are especially welcomed😉
Anyway, I'm up for anything, so if you want to hang out, meet up or just talk about everyday stuff, then do not hesitate to contact me, as they say😀 Sophisticated topics can be discussed, too, no worries😉
