About Me

A soon to be visual communication student on a gap year who has decided to pack up and go interrailing with her bestfriend.

I have a great passion for arts and photography and my goal is to travel the world so starting with Europe sounded like a good idea.

I am part Lebanese, German and English and grew up in the South of Portugal and moved to Brighton to study on my own at 17 so I naturally have an ache for adventures and new cultures/ways of life. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have heard nothing but lovely things from fellow couch-surfers (and hosts); everyone has informed me that it's the best way to meet locals and get a proper feel for the country.

Music, Movies, and Books

Growing up with musicians makes me open to all sorts! I love hearing new sounds.
But I enjoy listening to Vera Blue, Jamie T, Artic Monkeys, Alt-J, Halsey, Ben Howard, The Cat Empire, Florence and the Machine, Paramore, Tinariwen, Nancy Ajram, System of a Down, Lights, Enter Shikari, Vanessa da Mata.. the list goes on.

And I'm fairly sure I've watched most movies out there but can never remember any names! Just talk to me about one and i'm bound to say "oh yes!"
Obvious Child, Lion, Hunt for the Wilderpeople and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them are all films off the top of my head that I thoroughly enjoyed and watched recently.

As for books - where to begin! From Dracula, Blood Red Road, The Poisonwood Bible, Girl with a Pearl Earring to Isabel Allende and John Green books.. I'm pretty open to reading whatever I can get my hands on.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In São Tomé e Princípe I convinced everyone to go visit the turtle volunteers..

This consisted of us driving to a beach at 10 at night and waiting (whilst getting bitten alive by vicious mosquitos and supporting the stench of a recently beached sperm whale) until 1am when we decided to pack up but a man ran out of the jungle screaming "ambulance, ambulance" and sure enough, ambulance meant a 1.5m long leather back turtle had arrived on the beach to lay her eggs.

It was one of the most exciting, hilarious and beautiful experiences.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I actually enjoy helping out and creating things, I love cooking and am tidy and organised.

If anyone needs help with anything I'll try my very best to sort it out.
