About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To calm the disturbed and disturb the calm

ABOUT ME

I'm an all nature person, love being out with my dog, hiking, backpacking with my scoutsgroup and meet people from all over the world. My Nikon D90 is always with me and I would love to spend much more time in travelling the world. I feel great being outdoors, but also love interesting cities like Barcelona, Seattle, Berlin, Copenhagen or Reykjavik.

PHILOSOPHY

"I'm afraid I can't explain myself, sir. Because I'm not myself, you know." Alice in wonderland

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would love to host and meet interesting people from all over the world. I have one couch and two mattresses, so 3 people will easily find some space in my place in cologne city.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couch surfing is the more intensive and cultural more revealing alternative to backpacking and camping.

Interests

My interests are backpacking and traveling, spending time with good friends, listening to music, making music, yoga, climbing and skiing. I like action, but also enjoy silent moments at the campfire, cooking with friends, talking all night and a good glass of wine.

Music, Movies, and Books

First of all, I love music! There is a german singer/songwriter named "Dota und die Stadtpiraten" who is touching my soul and attending my life. I cannot list all my favourite artists here, but my iPod is currently playing Sarah Blackwood, Walk off the earth, Zaz, Element of crime, Selig, die Ärzte, Katzenjammer, Stefan Stoppok, Phillip Boa, Metallica, Mumford and Sons, they might be giants, New Model Army, Blind Melon, Pink Floyd and last but not least Janis Joplin.
My favourite Movies are Mullholland Drive, Lost Highway, Im Juli, gegen die Wand, My blueberry Nights, Garden State, Soul Kitchen, Dancer in the Dark, Django unchained and many more.
Books are too many to be named, but some Highligths were Madita (Astrid Lindgren), Rumo und die Wunder im Dunkeln (Walter Moers), Harry Potter, die unerträgliche Leichtigkeit des Seins, die unendliche Geschichte, der 100 Jährige der aus dem Fenster stieg und verschwand, and the books of Carlos Ruis Zafon, Tana French, T.C. Boyle, Yrsa Sigurðardóttir and Stieg Larsson.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My probably most exciting and thrilling experience was hiking the himalayas with 4 friends in 2010. We've visited China, Nepal and India and we've seen breathtaking landscapes and met amazing people. In Europe I love hiking the alpes, Scandinavia, Iceland and last but not least the french Island Corsica, my favourite place for short hideaways from stressful every days business.

Teach, Learn, Share

Outdoor adventurers and city hoppers, openminded and warm hearted people are always welcome. I love to listen to travel-experiences from all over the world, funny stories and people with unusual lifestyles.
