CURRENT MISSION
Hello World!
ABOUT ME
Hi there! my name is Nandini and I am 25 year old from Melbourne Australia. I am quite laid back, easy going girl and love meeting people from all walks of life. Having travelled regularly over the last decade, I seek adventure through exploring new places and trying new things.
While I have travelled extensively, I only started couch surfing late 2010 whilst on a 6 month exchange at Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh USA. Couch surfing exceeded all my expectations! Some of the fondest memories I have of my exchange experience were from the people I met while couch surfing.
I am currently travelling to Europe in April/May 2012 and hope to meet many new couch surfers. Having saved up all my annual leave over the last year I plan to make the most of my holiday!
For a living I work as a technology consultant for Deloitte, and I can be a little nerdy at times! In my spare time I love to read books, go watch live music and eat good food! I have also recently started swing dancing :)
PHILOSOPHY
I have a 2 very simple philosophies:
1) Try everything at least once!
2) Smile :)
Por que estou no Couchsurfing?
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I participate in CS when I travel. I find that it is a great way to meet up locals and get a real feel for the city and country I am visiting.
Unfortunately, I still live with my parents back home and am not able to host couch surfers at present. However, I am more than happy to hang out with anyone heading to Australia whether it be showing them around or giving them tips over coffee :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I was introduced to CS through an avid couch surfer I met while on exchange in Pittsburgh, USA. Since then I have couch surfed on a handful of occasions and had great time! What I enjoy most about couch surfing is getting to know new people and the cities in which they live.
I am now on a 7 week holiday to Europe and plan to take part in the CS community as much as possible!
Interesses
It goes without saying I love to travel. Having travelled regularly over the past decade some of my favourite memories include the Taj Mahal, seeing Mt Fuji from a bullet train and Angkor Wat temple in Cambodia.
I love 80s and 90s music but some of my favourite recent artists are John Mayer, The Killers and Phoenix. I also love a good dance and have recently taken up swing dancing!
I am a foodie at heart and nothing brightens my mood quicker than a lovely meal that hits the spot! While travelling I always seek to try the local cuisine and believe that food is a great way to understand the culture of city.
I travel with my DSLR camera and love to take interesting shots. I can’t say that I’m great yet, but I hope to get there!

Músicas, Filmes e Livros
I have always enjoyed listening to music. I am a 80s baby and I *love* music from the 80s and 90s!! After spending a few months in USA, I have also grown a deeper appreciation for Jazz and Blues. In addition to this I often mess around on the piano and guitar at home teaching myself as much as possible :)
I try to read as often as I can, and enjoy nothing more than enjoying a good book over a hot cup of tea. Some of the books I have recently enjoyed are Memoirs of a Geisha, Pride and Prejudice and The Kite Runner. I also enjoy anything by Bill Bryson.

Fun Australian Fact: In 1954, Bob Hawke was immortalised by the Guinness Book of Records for sculling 2.5 pints of beer in 11 seconds. Bob later became the Prime Minister of Australia.
