关于我
ABOUT ME
People would say that I'm very friendly, almost to a fault. I assume an intimacy with people I meet that they don't necessarily share. They would say that I've done a lot of different things, careerwise, and though I've been in the work world for more than 30 years, I'm still searching for the perfect fit. I still dream of being a writer, but currently can't seem to find the self discipline to be much good at it. I did spend over 10 years as a journalist, but it's been awhile since I exercised those muscles.
我为什么加入 Couchsurfing
Love Couch surfing in the winter, but in the summer I'm very busy, as the home is a vacation rental. I hope you catch me in the winter when the season is slow, but the Elkhart Lake area is still beautiful.
兴趣
I enjoy listening to others' life stories (and what they've come to think about them) as well as their dreams. I'm passionate about history, literature, photography, theater, film, animals (especially dogs), and our family farm. I have a library degree from UW-Milwaukee, but currently work as a domestic interpreter at a Wisconsin historic site and (during the school year) as an adjunct instructor in a small Milwaukee college.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情
Having my children in my 30s. This took me to a totally unfamiliar country. It's been 16 years since the first one was born, but I'm still getting used to the terrain.
I had the wonderful experience of living in Tokyo, Japan for several months about 20 years ago. This was my first and only overseas trip. I joined CouchSurfing hoping that it won't be my last.
My most incredible recent experience was participating in the Madison, WI protests against Scott Walker's draconian "reforms." Twice the crowds I was in were over 100,000 people strong. Those were amazing.
