PHILOSOPHY

Balance, Variety, Moderation

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Getting to know new people and other cultures is one of my favorite things, along with traveling, so I am happy to help others do the same by sharing the space I have. I look forward exchanging information, ideas, and building connections with the world's community.

I will be embarking on a gap year and I look forward to surfing with new people around the world. If you let me surf with you I would be happy to share my knowledge of yoga with you if you would like private instruction.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Most of the couch surfing I have done thus far have been with friends while I was visiting their city. My friends have connected me with their friends when I was visiting distant cities, enabling me to find accommodations, catch dinner or coffee with a local, receive an insider's view, and swap travel stories.

Interests

Variety is the spice of life! I am always game for new experiences. Some of my favorites are: listening to live music with friends, dancing, traveling/experiencing new cultures, savoring a good book, eating food with complex flavors, playing outside, learning a new sport, going to open air markets with colorful products, and being active in my local community

I seek movement everyday through yoga, dance, sports or a simple walk. I have studied many kinds of dance and love it all, I also love water skiing, downhill skiing, mountain biking, boogie boarding, hiking, running, skipping, jumping...and so on. (I would love to learn how to surf is someone would like to teach me.)

Community is really important to me so I look forward to expanding my community around the world.

Books: the Art of Happiness, If the Buddha Got Stuck, The Red Tent, Harry Potter, and most recently, the Twilight Series (be careful, great story, but it is CRACK ON PAPER...hard to put down and you will be needing another fix as soon as you can manage it)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I climbed to the top of Mt. Ngauruhoe in New Zealand. My friend Steve was going up even if I didn't come, so I decided to partake. It was a two hour climb, but the view from the top was the most amazing view ever!!!! It made all the work worth while. I am still astounded that I did it. (Mt. Ngauruhoe is also known as Mt. Doom from The Lord of the Rings, so we took a shot of Steve dropping the ring in)

Countries I’ve Visited

Czech Republic, Fiji, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, New Zealand, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
