I love to share what I have.
And I understand very well that people who travel on their own and are limited in budget in addition feel quite insecure and lonely in a foreign city, a foreign country.
Although not everyone admits this. ;-)
So, I try to make the lives of these people more calm and comfortable for a while.
Things that seem simple to local people - for example, how to pay for travel by public transport, where to change currency, how to get from point A to point B in the city, where you can have a cheap and tasty meal, where there is free WiFi and where to go for medical help - completely not obvious to a person who came to another country for the first time. In a few days, everything becomes clear and understandable. But you have to go through these few troubled days first)
And when a language barrier arises, because local people walking along the street or traveling by public transport do not know English and you can't receive simple technical info - then it’s really a problem.
Yes, you can ask Google beforehand. But Internet information confuses more than helping quite often. Especially, if you don’t have enough time to find out everything in detail.
I need local person who is ready to share advice and attention. And also human warmth and a roof over your head.
I am one of such people in Moldova.
I hope to find the same people in other countries, thanks to the wonderful Сouchsurfing platform.
