Creating systems that help people become more involved in local governance! (especially fun systems, like online gaming that enhances the democratic process)

Meeting people who are from places that are not the place I am from, and then having them
1) call me out on my blind spots/stereotypes
2) blow my mind with new ideas and ways of looking at the world
3) Hopefully they are doing these things over a beer or a tea (both are delightful)

Hmmmm what else? I love biking and bouldering, and would love to learn how to kayak and surf. I also play halting, no eye contact guitar, so prepare to swooooon.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Traveling without meeting and knowing the locals is a spectator sport, where I feel like I am just skating along the surface. I would love to meet the people that have created and are creating the cultures of the places I visit, and who can tell me, while laughing or ranting, about the virtues and problems of their neighborhood, town, state, province, or country.
I would also love to meet cool people who I can host if they ever make their way to my home town in Seattle, and then I can rant and laugh to them :)
