About Me
I absolutely love to travel! I usually take two trips a year—one longer adventure for about three weeks and a shorter one for a week. Over the past few years, I’ve been lucky enough to visit Thailand, Costa Rica, Mexico, and England, and I even cruised through parts of Europe. I had plans to go to Iceland too, but that one’s still on the list! Right now, I’m really excited about exploring more of Asia.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m really interested in Couchsurfing because I love the idea of staying with locals and experiencing a culture more deeply—from seeing how people live day-to-day, to trying local foods, and getting to know someone personally. Hotels feel too impersonal, and while I’ve stayed in hostels, they can feel just as disconnected depending on who’s there. I’ve been lucky to find homestays now and then, which I’ve really enjoyed—they’re a lot like Couchsurfing in spirit.
At home in Canada, I host international students from countries like Vietnam, China, Thailand, Spain, and Mexico. It’s been an amazing way to learn about different cultures, and I’d definitely be happy to offer a couch in return. I know every culture is different, and I always try to be open, respectful, and guided by the customs of the country I’m visiting. For me, travel is all about connection and mutual understanding.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A few years ago, I went on my first backcountry camping trip while hiking in Calgary, Alberta—and it was way out of my comfort zone! But I ended up loving it so much that it’s now become a summer tradition for me.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I’d love to share all kinds of things with my host—stories about Canada, insights from my work in law enforcement, and my background as a Jamaican woman. I also bring a big love for humor and laughter wherever I go! And if my host ever decides to visit Canada, I’d be more than happy to welcome them into my home.
