To enjoy life and meet interesting people.
I'm laid back, but I get anxious kinda easily, so figure that out. I love to be doing stuff, and I like to make a game out of whatever I'm doing because I get bored easily. I love to read, have good conversations with people who think differently than I do, and I enjoy almost everything I do. Or at least I try to enjoy it. I'm loyal. I'm very close to my family, who all live here in Huntsville, and if you sleep on my couch you will probably meet one or all of them. Which would be nice for you, since my mom is a great cook. =) I make EXCELLENT chocolate chip cookies.
I think my personal philosophy is in transition. I grew up in a strong (and suffocating) faith in God. I left that for awhile, but now I'm coming back as an adult and trying to live out a faith without succumbing to the cookie cutter version that is sold here (in the Bible Belt U.S). At this particular moment in life, I think I live to enjoy life, to deepen relationships with people I love and trust, to experience everything life has to offer, and to figure out what it means to live life while believing I am loved by God.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I got free hugs from the couchsurfers in Austin, TX. =) Can't wait for more experiences to describe!
faith, books, music, sports, games, rock climbing, movies, painting, traveling, taking walks, friends, talking to people, baking, kayaking, planting (and then killing) flowers, camping, hiking, learning, teaching, kids, family, social injustices, education, eating good food, sleeping, coffee with cream, journaling, sketching, doing things I'm nervous about so I can conquer that fear, making a difference in the world somehow...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing thing I've experienced ever is hands down when I helped my sister in law give birth to my two nephews. Being there when life comes forth is moving, life-changing.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to make some delicious southern food (which basically means we'll fry EVERYTHING). I'd probably like to learn about anything that you can teach me, but some specifics are: jewelry making, white water kayaking, knitting or crocheting, baking tasty treats, your culture and traditions, your faith and beliefs, and new games.
