ABOUT ME

I'm currently conducting hydrology research at the Grand Canyon as an employee through Northern Arizona University. On the side, however, I am a singer, dancer, painter, aspiring astronaut, and lover of chocolate and the outdoors.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

I'll be in Fort Collins for a work trip and the limited budget has left me without a hotel on my last night! Plus my birthday is the following day, and I'd much rather spend my birthday meeting awesome people from Couchsurfing than staying at a hotel by myself.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first (and only, so far!) couchsurfing experience was in Wellington New Zealand where my host treated us to an amazing time and showed us many gems of the city we would have never found otherwise. I haven't hosted anyone from couchsurfing yet, mostly because I've been moving around a lot, but I want to give back to the couchsurfing community someday by hosting once I'm a bit more more rooted!

Interessen

Some of my favorite things to do when I travel are try local food, check out local breweries/ wineries, go to art museums, listen to live music, see musicals and dance performance, and go hiking.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I listen to a lot of classic rock, but I love bluegrass, classical, and alternative music as well. I had a lot of musical training growing up, but sadly I don't really play any instruments well right now (except singing). My favorite movie is Princess Bride, and I'm really not sure what my favorite book is! Right now I'm in the middle of reading Dune, by Frank Herbert, and I'm definitely enjoying it.

Lots of knowledge about hiking trails in the grand canyon, as well as detailed knowledge about the geology and hydrology of the Grand Canyon, and lots of fun facts about geology in general. I also love drawing/painting with others! I don't currently have my house open to couchsurfers because I want to be courteous of my roommates and their privacy, but any host of mine is more than welcome to stay on my futon if they're ever passing through Flagstaff.
