About Me

Hi! I just graduated from high school in the US and, after deciding to take a gap year, I traveled around South East asia and am now traveling mostly through volunteering around Europe.

About me:
I wanted to see more of the world before starting university and learn not just from a formal education, but also from the people I meet and new experiences I am exposed to. The best decision in life I've made so far. I am passionate about giving back and improving the world, always excited to try new things and meet new people. We're both easy-going and content with simple ways of living.

About me:
I grew up in 30 minutes outside Seattle, Washington. This area was close to both the city and outdoors, so I camped and often hiked, going to the city more as I grew up. I absolutely love the outdoors and spending time in nature, as much as I also love the art and culture and energy that cities can bring.

Through high school I worked various jobs, as a soccer coach for a while, where I realized how much I love working with kids. They bring such effortless joy into the world, and never fail to make me laugh.

After my gap year I hope to pursue film in university, likely outside the US, as I'm still eager to learn from other parts of the world, especially when it comes to the arts. I'm very interested in documentary filmmaking, as I think film can be such a powerful way to share people's stories and expose ourselves to something we've never seen or heard of before. For me personally, film also presents a way for me to put myself out of my comfort zone and really put myself in situations that I never would have had the reason or opportunity to be in before.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I hope by using CS that I can meet friends for life while also meeting people who've grown up in a different area and environment than my own. I love talking to anyone, whether our interests are the same or not.

Music, Movies, and Books

Some of my favorite movies are Parasite, Do the Right Thing, and Moonlight, maybe. There's so many more, but I'm terrible at the act of deciding. These ones really stuck with me though.

I love reading any and all types. I especially love contemporary fiction, memoirs, and books on social science and phycology. Some of my favorites are Wish You Were Here, The Power, and The Sad Part Was. I have entirely too many books checked out from the library at any given time.

I also love card games, really any games-- especially the ones that force you to talk about the most random topics, which are always the most fun as well.

I listen to all sorts of music, honestly it changes by the day. I love 70s acoustic, 90s alternative rock, folk music, bossa nova, and soul. Also jazz and r&b

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

next year planning on hiking the PCT, which is a thru hike from mexico to canada!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm excited to learn from different cultures than my own, and want to learn more languages, if only the basics. I'd really like to become fluent in other languages though.

I'd be happy to cook a vegan meal for you, though some days I am vegetarian. Cheese, what can you do:)
