About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Make friends, learn as much as possible, have a good time doing it.

ABOUT ME

I just moved from Sacramento to Austin and getting things going is always the hardest part. I travel very frequently throughout the U.S. and Europe with my band, Agent Ribbons. I love to cook (I'm a pescatarian, if you will), I'm always interested in hearing about new music and books, and am easy to get along with, overall.

PHILOSOPHY

I have many personal philosophies, I think, and some of them might even contradict one another. Primarily, I would have to say that if it makes a good story later, do it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I used to have another account under the band name that we used a lot in 2007 and a little in 2008, and I hosed people a few times then. After that, I had to sublet my room most of the year and was touring non stop so haven't hosted anyone in a while. Right now, I'm probably going to be utilizing this moreso on the receiving end, but hopefully I'll have a place sometime soon!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I spend so much of the year traveling that I have tons of experience being a houseguest. I'm very respectful and don't mind cooking for others or hanging out and having some drinks, but I can go to bed earlier and just read by myself, too. My preference is always to not wake up particularly early, but it's not a problem if that's easiest.

Interests

Rudimentary sewing, doll making, music of all kinds, carpentry, books, healthy food, tacky thrift store finds, victorian stuff, friendly cats, vintage clothes, vinyl, making pals in all area codes, yummy coffee, inspiring things of all varieties!

Music, Movies, and Books

Always breakin' into something new. Movies I like are Blood Tea and Red String, Anvil, The World According to Garp, anything Jan Svankmajer, anything Jodorowsky, Jean Cocteau, Eternal Sunshine, Fern Gully, Spirited Away, etc.

Music: The Shaggs, Captain Beefheart, The Zombies, Velvet Underground, Raincoats, Anita O'Day, Stereolab, Antony and the Johnsons, Jonathan Richman, Heart, etc etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've traveled a lot and have a lot of stories to share, but it's hard for me to decide which experiences are better than others that can be listed here. I saw Ravi Shankar play, I toured the U.S. with Camera Obscura, I met my favorite comic book artist Dame Darcy...

Teach, Learn, Share

Yikes, I'm not sure. I guess it would depend how much time we had! I can show you how to use your sewing machine, how to make potato leek soup, or I can feux finish your room!
