About Me

i am a literary scholar based in berlin. I do not travel much, but if i do i always try to explore the city with locals, share some drinks together and maybe spend a beautiful sunset in the suburbs over a river.

i do also love photography (but i don't take a lot of pictures)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

thanks couchsurfing I did one of my best experiences in travelling, but it was the time when i travelled with a friend and hadn't yet made my own profile

Interests

i have studied literary theory and history in my bachelor, right now i am a graduate student in culture and literary studies in Eastern and Middle Europe, but apart from my interests in academia I am also quite fond of avantgarde cinema and music and of coarse of good food (korean/indean/japanese/chinese/french/italian/czech...) :-)))

Music, Movies, and Books

Films:
i am an avid cinema goer, but lately I have started to prefer retrospectives over newer films. To my all times favorites I can probably count, of coarse, some Tarkowskij, Bergman, Svankmajer, Herzog, Wilder, Chaplin, Tarantino, Fassbinder, Forman, Polansky, Thomas Anderson, H. Lewis, von Sternberg, Allen,

Literature:
i do know a lot of writers and works, but i still hesitate when i need to write down some of my favorites. So apart from all-time classics like Thomas Mann, Dostojewski, Nabokov, Joyce, Kafka or Borges in my
(russian) bookshelf you would also find some postmodernist writers like Pelevin, Sorokin, Makanin, Mamleev etc.
But i am not only interested in russian literature for sure, it is just that I know them more than others.
Recently i also stumbled upon and started take interest in (contemporary as well as not-so-contemporary-any-more) Roberto Bolaño, Witold Gombrowich, Emmanuel Carrère, as well as in contemporary poets like Jan Wagner or Hannes Bajohr... let me think of some other names to fill in the gaps

Music:
i do listen to all types of music, hip-hop to electronic to classical music to noise and everything else. but if i am to write a list of favorites, it could start with...
Grimes, Portishead, Holly Herndon, Fiona Apple, Cissy Kraner, Aphex Twin, Run the Jewels, Brian Eno, Joy Division, Kode9, Crystal Castles, Clark, Anika, The Haxan Cloak, The Bug, Thomas Fehlmann, Nina Kravitz, Boards of Canada, Basic Channel, Robag Wruhme, Mount Kimbie, Troy Pierce, Gesaffelstein, Monoloc, Caribou, Alex Smoke, Blood Orange, Vatican Shadow, Abdulla Rashim....
