About Me
Hello, guten Tag, 안녕하세요, 你好!
well basics first: I am a female German engineering student who just spent a year at a Korean university and is now currently in an internship in China. I also have lived in Chicago, USA for one year where I went to HighSchool. Because I had the time of my life in the US meeting new people there and making some incredible friends, I am really eager to see more of the world and to meet interesting people around the world.
So basics done ( yeah you can tell, I am a German engineering student :-) ). Now to the more interesting things about me: I am an open-minded person, who likes to laugh a lot. I consider myself to be outgoing and my friends call me to be "embarrassing" sometimes (in a good way) because I like to do things which are fun (like flash mobs) and new and which other might consider as embarrassing. The saying 'attempt the impossible to create the possible' describes my life pretty well. I try to stay out of my comfort zone as much as possible to always challenge myself just a little bit more. Therefore I try everything and I am up for nearly every adventure!
But on the other hand I think I have a sense of differences between cultures, so I approach new cultures carefully and try to adapt as best as possible. This works really well with a smile on your face, even if you don't speak the language I experienced.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because I want to meet new people!
There are different kinds of traveling. You can travel and use an "all - in - package" where you stay at your hotel and enjoy your time there. ....Or you go and try to get involved and meet people ,who live at the places you are visiting. And most of the time people living there at the place know the best places where to go, where to eat and how to have the best time! So that's the way of traveling I prefer! :-)
Interests
Sports: I am practising Taekwondo (for some years now). I also really like to sail. And I regularly work out at a gym. I am up for trying any new sports.
Traveling: I love to travel. I want to see as much of the world as possible!
Adventure: Go out, get on your bike, on the bus, in your car or whatever and just start seeing the world. I am not a fan of touristic places, I rather try to find the really local unknown spots. And I love nature and hiking and finding really beautiful nature side spots.
Friends: I spend a lot of time with my friends, talking, partying, doing fun things like playing lasertag or less exciting things like playing computer games.
Cooking: I love to cook. It comforts me when I had a bad day (nothing saves a day better than really healthy super food) , its something you can do with your friends and its a perfect gift to give away (who does not enjoy home-made food?)
My studies: I think I consider myself interested in my studies, which involves some kind of controlling and industrial automation.
other things I am interested in: listening to Music, spending time outside & nature, enjoying warm weather, Zen buddhism, and quite some other stuff, which is changing quite often.

Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite music: depending on what I am doing. Late at night or while just enjoying the moment, then German music. When working out, dancing or just walking around, rock (old classic songs as well as new songs) and metal music, and also Gothic sometimes.
favorite movies: that's quite difficult, that changes a lot and depends on my mood. I enjoyed Avatar, Despicable me, and a lot more. I am not a fan of horror and thriller movies. All in all, I don't watch much TV though.
favorite books: most of the times it's the book I am currently reading. Generally speaking, I enjoyed "The buddenbrooks" by Thomas Mann, all Disk World books by Terry Prattchett, "Sofie's world" by Jostein Gaarder.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
If you asked my Dad, he would say: wearing two different kinds of colourful socks. That's something I started when I was a teenager and I still do it everyday. And I love it.
If you ask me, then I say getting my black belt in Korea and biking around Jeju. But the sock thing also has its flair. By the way next on my list: Vietnam and Germany for cycling. You wanna join?
Teach, Learn, Share
I teach Taekwondo for beginners and I also give some self defense courses. So if you want to do some sports, learn new techniques and get moving, I am happy to teach you some basics.
