ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Nate and I enjoy traveling, meeting new people, and studying languages. For the most part I am a quiet, reserved/introverted individual but there are times when I unleash my inner extrovert. Once you get to know me I tend to be more talkative as well. I have my goals in life as well as a list of things to do before I die and I am driven to reach those goals and check off each item on the list.
Despite my introversion I enjoy doing crazy things mostly to push the limits of the human body and feel the adrenaline rush one gets when doing crazy things. I am more of an facta non verba kind of guy and try to live more through my actions. If you want to get to know me, just send me a message and I would be happy to have a chat.

PHILOSOPHY

I want to learn about the world and all it's mysteries. I enjoy listening to philosophical discussions and learning about what others think and believe.
My own personal philosophies stem from my studies of eastern martial, eastern philosophies, and some western ideas.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Just recently started and not quite able to do much participating due to current circumstances... but I will be participating more in the future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed in Chengdu and Kunming then have gone to CS meetings/events in Shanghai, Bogota, Beijing, and Chengdu.

Music, Movies, and Books

Any and all but preferably ones with a message or make a person think/ reflect on life (books/movies). Musicwise I am a fan of Nine Inch Nails and Rammstein but can really listen to anything. Recently I have really been getting into Kpop and Hmong (苗族) music...

I have made it my mission to read one book a week so I am open to any and all recommendations.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen and done a couple of amazing things; I can't wait to experience more!

Climbed up and down Taishan in Shandong Province, PRC twice in a row without rest until I reached the top for the second time. The sun had just risen and the crowd of people who had witnessed the sunrise had already cleared leaving me alone on top of the mountain to experience the immense beauty. Then I ran down in a fit of runner's high. The trip in total took 7 hours and I could not walk for a few days, but the despite the leg pain it was well worth it; I would do it again in a heartbeat.
