ABOUT ME

E/INFP. I'm a bartender at a wine bar/winery in Ohio (WSET level 2 certified-- I like to refer to myself as a "fake sommelier" but my official title is "wine bar expert"). I have an academic background in film and women's/gender/sexuality studies.

My best friend and I are travelling to San Francisco this summer for a long overdue vacation. Neither of us have ever been to the west coast and Diamond (the bestie) has never even seen the ocean, so they're especially excited about that.

We're hoping to meet as many amazing people as possible and participating in as much of San Francisco's rich history and culture as possible in a short stay. We're thinking of taking a day to go to Sonoma County for wine country sorta stuff. But while we're in the SF Bay Area, (in addition to great restaurants/museums/wine bars/clubs) we're hoping to discover local/independent/DIY art spaces/show venues/bookstores/etc (especially anything of queer/feminist interest).

I'm just updating my profile for the first time ever. I couchsurfed once a couple years ago and am keeping my options open. If you need a place to crash in Canton, hit me up. We can probably find a couch for you in our spacious apartment.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed across Cleveland and Lakewood for a few nights back in 2012. It was an overall positive experience but I just haven't found the time (or a reason) to surf anywhere since.

What I Can Share with Hosts

The most important thing I can offer are stories. I think that sharing stories and learning from the experiences of others is one of the most beautiful things people can do. Like for real.
I also have an academic background in women's, gender, and sexuality studies (oh and film) and I have a fairly extensive knowledge of music/film/art/pop culture and esoteric things like feminist underground comix by Jewish women, the history of US American daytime soap operas, and many other things. So we can have cool ass conversations about whatever.
I also know a lot of cool spots in Canton. I live downtown in the arts district and would be glad to show you around if my schedule permits.
