About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel the planet, shock my senses, and hip hop the ears one head at a time.

ABOUT ME

I'm currently living across the street from the Chicago boarder, in Oak Park. I love many things, and try to stay involved in as much as possible. I write/record hip hop music, am 1/5th of a live hip hop band, cook everyday (for fun and for work), barista at a local cheese shop, bike daily, dabble in graf art, avid photographer (powershot G9), looking to get back into school to finally get that bachelors, all the while planning travels, moves, and my next meal. Palabra.

PHILOSOPHY

I live to work, hard...whether at the job or with my friends...the honest fact, live life until your on ya back.

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything by Wes Anderson. City of God. Boy & Girls Guide to Getting Down. Obscure french flicks, like Pickpocket. Interesting/informative/provocative/funny documentaries, such as Beer Wars, Food Inc., Gunnin' For that Number One Spot, etc.

I really dig on Haruki Murakami. I read Assata Shakur's biography recently, so incredible. Hunter S. Thompson. Food and farming literature is interesting to me, as well as poetry. Spring Ulmer is great, Shel Silverstein of course, Saul Williams, etc etc.

Hip hip is my life blood, but I've got an open mind. I've really gotten into Grizzly Bear (seeing them in Lisboa this May!), Dessa, Dan Auerback, Amps for Christ, Man Or Astro Man, Tycho, Little Dragon, El Guincho, etc.

I must say, for hip hop, Blu has a pretty strong track record, and Cool Calm Pete is severely underrated. But, it all begins with beats for me and Madlib, Oh No, Exile, Freddie Joahkim, (they all from California) to name a few, have got the recipe to the bombest cup of tea.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent the celebration of the millennium on the rim of Ngorongoro crater, Tanzania, Africa. I lived in Hilo, Hawai'i for 6 months. I've played some pretty live shows in Chicago with a live hip hop band...

Teach, Learn, Share

I could show you how to beatbox, I got a pretty dope snare hit down. That would most likely lead to freestyling. I also love to cook and have been stock piling some good vegetarian recipes over the years. Really, I'm just down for some good conversation, good people, exploring, growth through relationships and experience.
